The NACD Foundation, a not for profit corporation

The NACD Foundation is a nonprofit organization of dedicated parents and professionals founded in 1979 by internationally recognized educator and lecturer Robert J. Doman, Jr. The Foundation’s mission is to gather, evaluate, and disseminate information and procedures relative to human development. Because the NACD works with so many families from all over the world, we know what is being researched and practiced as well as what is working (and not working) in relation to individuals with labels such as autism, attention deficit disorders, down syndrome, cerebral palsy, brain injury, learning disabilities, gifted, and accelerated.

NACD believes in the innate potential of every child. Our staff is comprised of therapists, educators, and developmentalists trained in the NACD Perspective. We work with families and individuals to reach toward their potential. Rather than simply teaching skills and coping mechanisms, NACD informs parents on how to identify and remediate issues. We empower parents with specific information and knowledge, enabling them to assume primary responsibility for their children’s maximum growth and development.

The NACD Foundation is also the research entity for the entire organization.

The NACD Foundation is an international organization that exists to create, gather, evaluate, and disseminate information and procedures relative to human development.

The mission of The Foundation is to educate parents and communities in order to create a better understanding of human development; provide financial support to families who want to help their children achieve their innate potentials; and support the efforts of the National Association for Child Development in continuing to research and create new methodologies to further the field of human development.

The vision of The Foundation is to help the children and thereby change the world.
